Deborah Anderson is an award-winning filmmaker and photographer whose most current work explores the sacred threads of identity, memory, and healing.

As a Leica Ambassador and internationally exhibited visual artist, Deborah has spent the past decade using her lens to listen, amplifying the voices of women, Indigenous communities, and those carrying ancestral knowledge through times of profound change.

Her most recent documentary, Women of the White Buffalo, received critical acclaim and multiple festival awards including Best Feature Documentary film at the Red Nation Film Festival, Best Director of a documentary at the LA Independent Women Film Awards, and 4 accolades at the Idyllwild International Film Festival—celebrated for its intimate and unflinching portrayal of Lakota women preserving their culture against systemic odds.

Deborah’s storytelling is rooted in trust. Whether behind the camera or in the field, she approaches each subject with humility and reverence, allowing space for truth to emerge on its own terms. Over the years her photography has been published in many global magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, ELLE, Rolling Stone to name but a few and her fine art portraiture has shown in LEICA galleries along with adorning the walls of notable award winning hotels, yet it is her commitment to telling difficult yet necessary stories that continues to guide her path.

With each new project, Deborah seeks not only to bear witness, but to build bridges. Her work invites audiences to reflect, connect, and imagine a more compassionate and connected future.
